Newbie here - turning van into car - possible? probable?

  1999 Renault Clio
Hello all out there just waiting to help me. My friend has a 1999 Renault Clio 1.2 8V and it's a three door van. I'd like to take out the cage, metal supports, etc and put in a back seat. There are three in the family and a van only has two seats. It seems a bit cruel and dangerous to leave the child back there. Any protocol to follow? It seems that there is a piece of the Van kit that is welded to the frame of the car. We could cut it off, but is there an easier way, number one. If I cut it out and can't put the rear seat in, I'll be crushed. So, two, is it possible to do this? The car runs great otherwise and would be perfect for my first European car. Please help if you can.

Thanks for the advice. So what is it worth? 1999 Clio Societe Van with a 1.2 8v rebuilt engine and newer clutch? New battery, pipes on muffler, etc. Rides well. My buddy wants to sell it.

To sell, about £7-800.

You can buy a 1999 1.2 8v car version for the same money.

Don't waste your time trying to do a conversion if saving money is your aim.
