Newbie saying Hi !

  172 cup
Hello!

Picked up my first 172 cup yesterday and thought I drop in. So far I love it ! Very surprised by how well it performs

It has a few bits:

RS 98 Ron map
Exhaust
Ktec intake
Whiteline arb
Polybushes
Cooksport springs
And a bunch of replaced OEM parts.

Look forward to seeing some of you at perhaps a local meet soon.

Beautiful! Just picked up one myself. Used to have a Monaco blue one that was bought mint with very low mileage.

Went the other end of the spectrum this time though, VERY cheap fixer upper route with an iceburg silver. Hoping to get a small sense of self accomplishment and smugness once she's finished. Knowing I've brought her back to life after years of being miss treated.

Well done with the car, looks amazing.

Cheers guys!

Ill definitely have a look into the membership, especially for £12, bargain! Is everything Renault this cheap? Haha

MLR membership with the Evo was £45 I think and nearly fainted ! :grimacing:

Any common things to look out for on these? Cambelt, dephaser, clutch, engine mounts, rear shocks, balljoints, tie rods/ends, widebone bushes, rack bushes and arb bushes have been done.

Might replace the front shocks and topmounts for piece of mind and maybe freshen up bushes at the back ??

Thanks

Cam belt/water pump/dephaser. If you've had no solid proof of it being done with receipts then assume it hasn't and get it done. Specialist only job aswell I'm afraid. Search for horror story's of "my mate" or "my local mechanic" doing the job. And then them breaking leaving the engine with some lovely dropped valves.

Thanks for the heads up dude

Cambelt has beeb done though. Was a 82k which I thought was pretty late but has been done nonetheless.
