newbie west mids

hi all. Just bought my first Clio 172 and I love it!
hoping to get to some meets and have a few plans for the car already styling wise.
not really going to go to town with the engine as its a daily run around but am interested in getting it mapped soonish.
I will be active on the main forum anyway so hopefully get some heads up from you guys.

iIm from Coventry and there are quite a few West Mids members dotted all over the region,
even as far north as Stoke, get yourself in the West Mids regional section to see what's going on meet wise.

hi jack. I will be. Ive got a standard as you like black 172. No mods apart from an aftermarket exhaust that I will prob be changin back to stock depending on what brand it is as it does sound nice.
I will get some pics up later.

Sounds good, I just drive a standard 1.2

this one I have had 2 weeks now.
its all original, 50k miles and not a scratch in sight. 5 standard alloys all mint.
am over the moon with it.
I'm going to keep it all standard and at shows maybe use it as an example of what they were like from factory
that's the plan anyway, I could get carried away

Hi Lee. I am over in Telford...so not a million miles away.
The standard 172 Exhaust is about £600, when I had my 172Cup, I went to Pro-speed in Cardiff, he did me a stealth exhaust, and it really made the car sound better...without the worry of the backbox falling off after a few years (which is what happened with my old one!)

Ask Adam ('Renault Wolverhampton' on here) he works for Renault and is awesome with the prices...but he can't sell for less than cost unless he's clearing out the warehouse.

ah right, cheers for that ill put him in my phonebook. Ive got it in for cambelt, dephaser and aux on Thursday at my local Renault specialist.
quick question, is it normal to have a lumpy tickover on these 172 engines?

nah it doesnt have cruise control.

ive read cruise control came in after 03 but mine is an 04 with no cruise control so i can only guess that it was optional.
