Hi,

Just got a 02 172 after driving a 1.6 Daewoo!!! Its only got a couple of months warranty left so wanted to ask a couple of questions,

When cornering left (hard) there is a knocking noise coming from the driver front wheel area its sort of like the first time you use ABS and think WTF was that!!! Doesnt seem to do it when cornering right?

A couple of times when i been putting the boot down it has crunched sort of between 1st and second although it might be my crap driving becouse it doesnt do it all the time and im not used to the clutch/box yet

Havent driven the car much yet but from what i have its fun finished work a 3am today so the roads were quiet wasnt really booting just appreciating the handling

Hi Danny, welcome to the madhouse mate.

Cornering noise?? Wheel bearing maybe? Worth checking anyway. Gearbox crunch is probably something to get used to - its not the best gearchange in the world to be honest.

Suppose ill get Renault to look at the noise, doesnt sound like a wheel bearing more like the tyres is flat, will probably give it a few days and see if anything else shows up

could be engine mount or the suspension mod that some people have had done on here might resolve it, get it looked at by the dealer is the best bet

If you think your tyres are flat I wouldnt go "appreciating your handling" too much, until there up to pressure mate.

I didnt mean the tryre was flat, but its that sort of noise, sounds like the ABS kicking in or the tyre trying to pull itself from the rim
