nice non boy racer ish head unit??!!

pid

  182, black gold
i wouldnt mind a nnew head unit in my 182 as the standard is quite ugly, are there any out there that are decent and dont look 'taccy' or 'boy racer-like'?? around 2-300 quid????

  Golf GTI PP Mk7
imo, anything non-standard looks completely, well and truly out of place. one day when ive got time im going to get a new head unit, then rig the standard facia onto the front so it looks completey standard, as best as possible.

Have a look for a tidy DVD one?

You can sometimes pick up a second hand one with sat nav etc?

My mate got a Kenwood one with touch scrn and sat nav etc for 400 so go for a cheaper make or something?

It looks the dogs and smart as

Alpine units are the best imo, dvd units are a big waste of money if you ask me.

I have an alpine one, cant remember the model but its got blue buttons that match the blue in the cup quite well and then at night they are a nice red colour.

Sound quality is pretty awesome too

sony ones are fairly good as they are fairly plain but very good quality, alpine are one of the best but do stand out a lot.

kenwood are a very good head unit, and very discrete as far as an aftermarket headunit goes!
but also there is a jvc unit, with a built in 3inch colour screen to watch dvd's on, it is black gloss and looks awesome!

Yeah i was thinking about that one (theres two models out now) but i just thought why? really couldnt see me using it often enough to warrent spending the money on it. Sound quality is good but the quality of my alpine is better imo and it saved me 150 quid lol
