Nikon lens jamming

Got a AF-S NIKKOR 18-55mm which seems to have stuck so that it cannot be zoomed in or out. Can still focus ok just not zoom. Don't want to force it since it's still under warranty.

Couldn't have happend at a worst time when I'm out in the Canadian rockies.

Anyone had his happen?

Yes I had this when it took a hard knock to the front, forcing the zoom mechanism off the runners. Nikon jobbie or other specialist, unless your good with really fiddly things?

Edit: Just read its under warranty. Send it back.

I'm not aware of it being accidently damaged and looks in perfect condition. There is a nikon authorized service center in Glasgow so will take it to them when I get home.
