No 5 th gear

The tripod gearbox mount snapped on my 172 I replaced the mount but now I have no 5 th gear any ideas ?

Any ideas people 4 th all the time is not cool I miss my 5 th :-(

probably bent the linkage rod. Will need straightening, then adjusting

or the end casing has hit the chassis leg?

The casing did hit the chassis leg but didn't look like it hit hard at all

Any more ideas guys ? It's been off the road for a while now. Tried adjusting the linkage but made no difference. Replace the we nylon bush too as the old one was split

Does it try to go in or not go anywhere near it.? Might help with people trying diagnose the problem.

Hi it goes into 5th but doesn't actually turn the wheels. Reverse has started to crunch also

End case off... bet the nut has fallen off or is mega loose.

Is it hard job to get the end case off etc ?

nope, 3x13mm bolts - just be sure to drain the box BEFORE you pop the endcap off or else you wont be popular with whoevers driveway youre working on.

Ok going to tackle this tonight or tomorrow night. Any recomendations on what gear oil to use ?
