buy a haynes manual and read up on it.. if it says more than 3 spanners i wouldn't bother if i were you.. unless you know how to hold a spanner and arent scared.
my old 2004 1.2 16v did that. mate of mine said it was due to the electronic throttle thing. I wasn't convinced - would put my boot through the floor.... wait... then something would happen. I didn't have the spluttery exhaust though so Im probably talking poo...
