no throttle response

Car  Monaco Clio 172
i was just out driving normal, cruising bout 40mph with slight acceleration. when i come to put my foot down a bit the throttle didnt respond and it seemed like the engine was losing power then all ov a sudden it started to power up again. on the way home it has done it a couple of times now. Can anybody shed any light on this????

Clean the TB?
Check for airleaks? (though i assume this would be happening all the time)

Was it trying to cut out at all?

i wouldnt say it was gonna cut out but there was just no power for a few seconds. The revs dropped then all ov a sudden it accelerated again

im in wolverhampton too pedro and it couldnt av anything to do with the heavy rain cud it. could anything av got wet

Doubt it unless youve left the engine bay open. ;)

Im thinking TB now though. Im sure someone more experienced would confirm or not though.

Yeah, it gets really coked up.

Get a mate with a blow torch to blast the worst of it off. If it's still no better, they're about £70.

isn't the lambda sensor fault code sometimes a bit of a red herring? if a car is over-fuelling, the lambda will get coked up and give an error. i'm looking into this as my zafira has been stuttering a bit. it's not getting upto temperature, so i need to replace the thermostat. as it's running colder than it should be, it's throwing more fuel into the mix, some of it isn't getting burnt and is killing the lambda sensor. just a thought, please prove me wrong though, i don't want to give out b****cks information, this is just what i've picked up from reading into my issue.
