Noise on Back right wheel

H

HickiN

Afternoon

I noticed a high pitched noise / squeek coming from the back right hand corner of the car yesterday when driving back up the road from Glasgow.

When i got out the car it made a noise, so i rocked the car and it squeeked everytime there was any pressure/weight put onto the right hand corner... any ideas what this is likely to be? suspension? CV joints?!

Cheers

CVs aint on the back?

Is the wheel tight?
When where the bearings changed?
Are the disks catching?
Are the pads low?

Could be many things imo. I'd want to say bearing but can't say nothing without seeing it.

my knowledge of a car isn't great, so CV was a stab in the dark...

yes the wheel is tight
I have no idea when they were changed
Disks aren't catching
Pads need changing.... will do this in a couple weeks...

I'll have to put it in the garage i guess and find out

If the noise is relative to rotation (making a humming noise that is linked to speed), or makes a little more noise when cornering, its possibly a wheel bearing. Not an uncommon fault.

If your pads are low there could be metal plate behind the pads catching the disks. It would leave like a score mark on the disk if it goes on for to long.
