Noisy rockers/tappets??

  ph1 172
How doo guys,

Right before I get it in the neck I have searched lol

When buying my ph1 172 I looked around about 3 car including a ph2 and all of them had the same noise.

It sounds like the tappets/rocker arms are noisy this is happening when the car is warm and on idle.

NOW did I look at 3 F*cked cars and think it was normal OR is it a normal noise on the 1*2 clio sport???

For the record i settled on my ph1 due to it having 12 service stamps :) and came with some choice mods

Old and dirty oil can cause the valve gear to stick and rattle. So do an oil change with the correct oil first.

does the sound go away after a small amount of revs 1500-2000pm ish. diesel car type sound?

Yes it does :) is it a common fault?? any known fixes?

next week i'm going to be getting on the phone to opie oils and buy my preferred poison silkolene pro s doesnt taste nice BUT its pink and is a very good oil lol

Pink oil? Never heard of that. Any oil of the correct grade will do, I would put some cheap oil of the correct grade in, run it for a few hundred miles to wash out the dirt, then put put my preferred brand in.

my does it but its not as bad as some of the videos guys have posted on here, plus it quietened down alot when id put some new good quality 5w40 fully synth in it.

As above, it certainly sounds like the cause. if it definitely goes away after 1500rpm ish then its most likely dephaser. its £160 on its own, the you've got belt changes so ur looking at a nice £500+ bill.
