Nokia N96 camera settings

Tried taking some pictures last night and they where turning out really dark (and yes the flash was one:rasp

Thought the camera was buggered but had a play with the settings this morning and the camera was fine but was just wondering if anyone could tell me what sort of settings i should have just for general use as I dont have a clue when it comes to cameras. I know its only a 5mp camera phone but always have it on me and take a lot of photos on it.

Can play with exposure compensation, iso value, contrast & sharpness settings.

I've found it does night out pissed up photos pretty well as long as your subjects are within reasonable distance, otherwise the led flash just can't hack it. Doubt touching the settings will improve it much really.

6500 Classic probably has the worst camera ever. I just keep it in auto, only thing I change is flash on/off.
