On the questions hes said he doesn't know the problem with it because 'hes not had chance to take it to Mazda', surely you'd find out before selling? Seems a little fishy to me.

thats what got me thinking.. So looked at engines on the bay 1500 notes! I can fit it myself etc but £1500 o_O Would still be a cheap RX8 at the end of it though..

50k with new plugs leads and coils i'd say rotor2 is low on compression. we get alot in at work like this. min compression at 260rpm is 07.1, we get alot in with 06.3. wrong oil being use can cause this but its not reversable n cheaper to replace engine (3500 high power or around 4300 for the low power)

I wouldn't touch that.

Not much more to buy a working one. Apparently they have a few faults though. There was a thread on here not so long ago.
