Non-Sports with HIDs

I know the non-sports are H7 fitment but it is a twist off cap to replace the bulbs.

Has anyone even managed to fit H7 fitment HIDs to these lights?

Is it a bumper off job?

Just tried to fit them to mine and after unscrewing the cap and plugging in the wires to this, there is no way to hold the HID bulb into the headlight :s

It was on my last car but that was H1s, these are H7s that slot into the cap and then you put the cap and and twist it to hold it in :s but as you need to plug the wires into this then you can't use the cap to hold the bulb in

Is it like a metal clip, you put the bulb in the headlight and close the clip over?

Mine are H7s and you slot the two prongs into the cap then put the whole thing in at once and twist it to lock

I know what you mean, you can't hold the bulb and twist it into it's locking position. Mine was a bumper off job, I just couldn't do it without taking the headlight unit out, then it's much easier.

So it does fit then mate yeh? Does the bulb actually stay inside the headlight without the cap? As you need to put the wires into the cap for the power?

i know what you mean dm_26, you need to cut a slice in the original silver clip like this picture below:

then you can slide the hids wires threw this and screw this into the bulb holder

Ahh I get you, so you put this round the HID bulb so you can clip it into the headlight? then just use the cap as normal with the wires?

Thanks alot, that really helps

  Clio 182 Cup
I have fitted 8000k HID's to a 182 Cup Model, Would I have to change these back to halogen for the MOT or will it pass if I leave them in? I have heard if a car does not have projector lenses or headlight washer jets then its a problem. However ive seen cars standard without these features i.e Latest Honda Civic and One of the laguna models. Does anybody know where we stand on this?

Thanks

you need to have a read of this: www.hidconversion.info

It depends on the MOT garage mate.

I had mine MOT'd with the bulbs in and it passed but iirc as of next year it is to become part of the test that if its got Xenons it must be legal.
