After admitting defeat and deciding it needed specialist diagnostics, I embarked on a two hour trip to Nottingham to take the car to Mick @ Diamond Motors.
After speaking to him at length over the phone he assured me he'd find the problem and have it running again. He also came highly recommended by other C/S members so I decided it was worth the trip!
Took it to Mick on a trailer Saturday morning and spent the day going over the basics. Mick was dieing of Man flu yet still came out to help me as I can't get the car to him in the week as I work 9-5. Come 6 o'clock we decided enough was enough for the day and I left it with him on the basis he'd take a look whenever he had a spare couple of hours.
Monday morning - I get a phone call from Mick. "I've nailed it!" It was just a broken wire to one of the lives on the ECU giving intermitant signals which was stopping the car starting.
And the best bit - When I asked Mick how much I owed him for his services? "Just an hours labour as I should have found this sooner". Had he not been dieing of flu on Saturday, I'm sure we would nailed it then.
So thanks Mick! Top guy, really knows his stuff on these cars and he can't come reccommended highly enough!!
