Noob - does this sound ok?

  Ph2 Flamer
Hi

Never washed my previous beasts with anything other than a car wash or bucket and sponge before but now I've got a decent car in the 172 flamer, have read a few threads on here and have decided to give a few products and this 2 bucket method a go.

On a budget at the moment as new belts and dephaser going on tomorrow but have got the following in the Halfrauds 3 for 2

AG car shampoo
Megs claybar
AG quick detailer
AG SRP
2 buckets and a couple of wash mits and microfibre towels.

Can't stretch to a snow foam attachment atm but will give it a good rinse first and then use plenty of shampoo etc. Planning to clay it then with the detailing spray.
Is AutoGlym HD wax is a decent wax to buy to put ontop of the SRP? or what other good options would be around the £20 - £30 mark as there seem to be some conflicting views. Oh and I don't own a polisher, so this is all by hand.

I know AG isn't the best and I would ideally snow foam first but am still hoping for reasonable results, certainly better than the car wash anyroad.

Cheers

I've used srp then egp then nattys poor boys blue paste. Car is still looking good months later. Can't get the poor boys from halfrauds but available online pretty cheap.

All were applied by hand.

Snow foam isn't really necessary imo.

I found HD wax really easy to apply/buff off lasted at least 3 months too, very good VFM.

Cheers Emma so srp, then extra gloss protection and then a wax (not sure the blue paste would be the one for a red car would it? there's a clear version i may look at although the AG HD comes with all the applicators and what not so will probably still go with that)

Cheers Kane sounds good, particularly the easy to apply bit!

I really rate HD wax over SRP, 2x layers is currently lasting 5+ months, coming up to 6 on half my car, the other half I stripped off before it started to loose durability so I could try a different wax

  Not a 320d

I only use it to clean caravans and conservatories now. Only time I use it on a car is in the winter when its properly caked with s**t.
