nooobie stalk control help

Hi all

I have a '99 clio with display on dash and to be installed Alpine head unit as well as all the relevant stalk adapter and patch leads.

My question is do I have to take the dash off to connect the stalk adapter cable or is it simply one of the cables at the back of the stereo?

If I do need to take part of the dash off, please could someone tell me how or where I can get a guide from.

You shouldn't need to no, 99% are simple plug and play units.
