Re: Norton Ghost and Go ack

Norton ghost is useful for installing identical setups on multiple PC's but not really worth installing just for the avergae home user.

  As father and son....

Goback pretty good used it for a while but as its monitoring in the background i found it took up alot of resources .....Its a better version of xp's system restore and it saved me a few times and never failed unlike xp's version which i have switched off.

I always install ghost.when i do afull format and setup my comp i do a ghost backup which i backup on a 2nd drive so wheni fancy a format i just restore from the ghost backup and its already got it clean and setup ready with all your apps already installed...Works for me :)

Never used go back..

Ghost is very useful, as J273 says, backing up your initial pc setup so you have something to fall back on.
I use Ghost most days at work..
was well glad of multicast ghosting, when upgrading all of our 70+ sites that had hundreds of pc's to be re-imaged! it did a very good job & didn't have any real issues, except when users decide to switch pc's on while they are waiting for the session to start, which buggers the whole lot up!

At the moment i'm mainly using it with a crossover cable to re-image single pc's from a laptop when out on sites if needed.
