Not a brilliant start to 172 ownership...

Just back from main stealer, where they told me knocking under hard acceleration has been fixed by making a'strut top modification'. Sounded like b****cks ndt it was, as noise is still there 200 yards out of dealers. When i got to the garage originally i wanted to take a mechanic out with to show them the exact noise a couple of times and got the old they don't have time, you have to pay etc. Then get told that a squeaking noise is due to the wrong aux belt being fitted by the independent dealer i bought it from  Can noone be trusted to carry out the correct work in good faith? Had a good thrash last night and i dread to think if belt had let go.

Its going in for aux doing tomorrow, as the dealer I bought from won't be being trusted by me again. Rant over. Safe to say i am seriously pissed off.

Yeah will do that defo. What a sad state of affairs when a main dealer cannot be trusted to do the work correctly.

when i took mine in for the knocking under acceleration they told me that they had to perform a mod to the strut top as at full lock it makes a knocking sound mine has allways made that noise and still does now and have never had any probs with that, did you check the bolts under the battery ?
