i still have to give them a final coat..


What do i use to protect the paint from flaking etc? as ive only sprayed them as yet.

  RS 182 - Black Gold
A good coat of Laquor to protect them.

I used some funky stuff i found online - Oil and Petrol proof laquor. Its just a lil bit stronger !

Looking good dude tho :D

yep a nice few coats of laquer will protect 'em, start with a lite dusting then thick and they will stand the test of time :)

nice... get some of that stuff from halfrauds and pick out the lettering on your tyres and it will look mint with them wheels... and some speedline decals off of ebay... spot on for winter matey!! :D
 
yea i am mate... ^^. kinda got bored with the black, so thought i'd have white winter wheels..

i think ill take my 17"s over to fred for a PROFESSIONAL refurb. then stick them back on after feb.

when putting the laquer on spray until it looks wet then move quickly if you layer it right you will get a nice finish - leave atleast 24 hours before handling as your fingers will warm the laquer and you'll have nasty finger marks in - once fitted give them a nice buff up

Yep, I've learnt that one the hard way in the past!

auto-paint and i think even halfords do a petrol resistant lacquer. its the same price as normal lacquer but you cant get it in the bigger sizes iirc.

would be a good idea to spray all the wheels in conventional lacquer, and then give them a topcoat in the more resilient petrol-proof lacquer to keep them looking good all through winter.
