Not Starting......

  Black Gold Cup Packed 182
I switched my engine off today, didnt get out of the car or take the keys out of the ignition so didnt activate the immobilisor, went to start it after about five mins and it wouldnt even turn over, just a click...... After about 5mins of trying i took the handbrake off to slightly roll down the hill i was on, then it fired up straight away. And about an 2hours later it did the same thing after i filled her up with petrol, rocking or rolling didnt make a difference this time, i just had to keep trying, it eventually fired up after a couple of mins....

Anyone got any idea whats knackered?

cheers.

I thought it may have been the starter motor, will renault fix this under warranty? Not just fob me off saying there is no fault as it only happens every now and then.

It sounds like the ground connection to the starter motor. I had it once with my old 1.2 and the RAC man sorted it in 2 mins :)

Mine has started doing this recently... seems to be getting really bad now though, going to check all the connections tonight, then if not ill have to think about trying a new starter motor :(

Its not the immobiliser on mine, because i can still bump start the car.

had the same problem with my 1.2, had it checked 2 weeks ago and turned out to be the crank sensor
