NOZ in 1.2 16v

would like alot more torque and big bhp but can really afford to ut new engine in, was advised to put is some noz, would this work in just a 1.2 16v clio or would i be wasting my money?
also is it expensive to run?

1.Sell your car, buy a fast one.
2.Keep your car, buy a 1.6/172 engine.

Basically don't waste your time and cash trying to make a slow car fast, it simply doesn't work. Be cheaper to drop a bigger engine into it.

i was quoted £700 for a fitted wet noz kit? added 25bhp, dont really know if thats good or not? was quoted £4000 for a new engine fitted,

You might as well try it. I've got a mate locally who runs NOS on his 172 and he's ran 13.5 1/4 miles, it can't hurt to try just make sure you get it done properly. Go for 50 jets if they'll let you.

Then when your engine blows up you can drop in a 172 engine

mi16 is a pug 405 engine which is a very common mod into 205gti's somebodies talking a lot of s**t.

contact matt black for a price on supplying and fitting a 1.6 or 2.0 engine and gearbox and what other parts u'd be recommended to change i.e. suspension, brakes etc to cope.

alternatively sell ur car and get a 1.6 205gti, and when you get the hang of it upgrade to an mi16 lump in a year or 2.

Couldnt the 1.2 lump handle a 25bhp shot of nitrous even if you upgraded the clutch and used a progressive contoller?

u realise the whole front end of your car will be different..

U gotta swap engine gearbox driveshafts hubs suspension brakes wheel bearings radiator ecu uch wiring loom into dash etc!

it aint easy or cheap, i'm sure matt_black does a kit for around the £1500 mark

i got my clio on finance about 3 months ago so i cant get rid of it, so what do u all sugest i do?
i cant leave it as it is, its driving me mad,

just save your money and wait for a while get a bigger engine before you go wasting money on engine mods... how old are you 18?

Personally i'd say get a set of coilovers and take any races to a back road!
I beat a std 172 on a backroad in my coilovered 1.6 16v! (but i dont think the other guy was confident in his clio)

I felt the same at one point. I considered all sorts of options, engine swaps etc. In the end I decided it wasnt worth it for a 1.2.

You should do what i do and cruise around. Ive made my car look nice instead of trying to make it a racer. Ive stuck big sounds in and got chrome rims so Id rather drive slowly and get noticed.

Next step will be to save up and buy something a lot faster.

ok, well im 21, had a 106 gti but after a crash had to go down to smaller engine, been in the clio for 3 months and am bored stiff, i need somthing with a bit more torque, i would rather pay more on the insurance and have a smile when driving then have the extra money in my pocket (then my bird will spend it) and have a smile on my face when drining, what could i do for around £4000, looking to take back seats out but love my music so have big ice system and dont want theifing b******s nicking it ,

^seriously, crash or no crash, with 4 grand plus money from the sale of the 1.2 you will have plenty for a quick hatch and insurance. Seems pointless to sell the Gti when you still have the money for it and want to plug it into a 1.2. Look at a Mk1 172, 106 gti, vts etc for around 3.5-4k and then use the rest of the money and money from 1.2 for the insurance, much better idea mate.

jon with the 172 conversion had a 50bhp shot on his 1.2 16v said it was fukin rapid untill it blew a piston thru the block.

to be honest your talking about £800 to have it supplyed and fitted, if you look about you can buy a 172 engine for that, and if your handy and can fit it yourself then thats cool but if you cant fit it yourself, theres no point in thinking about it.

106 was ritten off, so taken away, only give 2500 for it so i put that into the deposit for clio the financed the rest, (paid £5995 for a 2002 clio dynamique)
so have got £4k to spend on engine because i will have a bit of doe cumming my way very soon,
