NSX @ Japfest

Car  Turbos.
Last weekend we were at Japfest to drum up a bit of publicity, do some charity passenger rides and support the NSXCB guys. The organisers were great, allowing us to have the passenger rides for no cost and we are also allowed in every track session for nout too!

It was a beautiful day at Castle Combe, just a shame the car doesn't have air con! Typically, the power steering also packed up before turning a wheel, so i was in for a sweaty day...

Considering it had been a year since i'd been to the circuit, i thought i better take the first session to familiarise myself. Lights ablaze i started playing with the other cars!

The car felt alright, but it was pretty stiff and the steering was fcuking effort. Was glad this was a fast circuit, as one with tight corners would have been pretty difficult.

I then started taking people out who'd won the raffle. I got a couple of fitties, but most were a little on the large side. Couldn't get the side or crotch straps on them lol!

Generally people were driving ok, but there were a few guys who chose some odd lines, despite the turn-in, apex and exit cones!

Of course, the NSX was the fastest car out there, but i was surprised to see how rapid the Miltek GTR was on the straight. Merked the wobbly tank round the rest of the circuit though.

Most others were pretty slow, black Evo tried hanging on.

Not for long, punk!

Was disappointed with a supercharged NSX there, didn't give it any beans!

But the main thing was everyone had a good time, and apart from the PAS, the car was fine. On to Brands Hatch at the weekend where we're doing two hour race on the GP circuit, can't wait :)

Thanks...

Nick, apart from GT Cup there are DMN Saloons, Toyo Saloons, Production BMW and the Champion of Brands (think that is Formula Ford).

Should have taken me out..lol

A mate of mine seemed to think the GTR's didnt look as quick as most the mitsi's..

I may pop up Saturday if i get the time, doing Cadwell park on the Sunday unfortunately.

Any testing tomorrow?

Thats my mate in the black Evo. He was far from happy when i told him yours was standard engine wise lol

lol...ease his woes, just let him know i am a hero. To be fair, i was probably the only one out there with slicks on. Put some sticky rubber on a Segway and it would be as quick as a most cars with road tyres.

I told him that you spent more on brakes than he had on his engine...

Hope the power steering holds up for Brands or your in for a tough time of it.Good luck.

We are at Anglesey, hope the weather hold's out.

Thanks, good luck to you too Tony! Never been to Anglesey but would love to go there.

To be honest if the power steering doesn't work, it will be game over i imagine!

The NSX looked and sounded great at Japfest, mate. It looked fast even when parked up in the pit lane!

Managed to grab a few photos but was not having a great day behind the lens... :o
