NTL/Bit Torrent

Hi Peeps,
Recently when downloading Bit Torrents for a while, say over night i come back to my pc to find im not actually connect to the net evan tho i have an active connection via NTL and there is no u/s and d/s lights on the modem. i have to unplug the modem and leave it for like 30secs and turn it back to allow it to connect again.
any ideas.

Is the modem connected via USB? I'm guessing, but maybe if you have left the PC idle for a time, then maybe it goes into standby? Maybe this causes the connection to drop?

I did this with me, when downloading a film overnight it would stop, and id have to reset it. I'm on CAT5 not USB.

Im using newsgroups now, and I can download 10GB in a night. No connection breaks!

So my advice to you is to sign up to newsgroups.

My NTL dies all the time, downloading or not, daily routine of unplug wireless/router, wait 30 seconds then rock n rolling again...

i use cat5/ethernet so it cant be oing into standbye.
i do use nesgroups but sometimes like to use torrents.

sounds like a f**ked modem, mine kept doing that. they came and replaced the modem. working fine since

then may ring NTL if it persists.
