Number plate on dashboard?

Ive took my bumpstrips off ready for colour coding, however is it illegal to just sit my front plate on my dashboard or do i have to mount it where the bumpstrip used to be? Cheers

Depends on how picky the copper is, your not meant to have it on the dash but if your having work done and explain that nicely to mr officer if you get pulled im sure they will let you off.

myns at the top of my window...
...no way im sticking it on the front bumper...

i got put on a register and told i have a week to stick it on the bumper or ill get a fine, so i did

If you explain that you're in the process of having some 'repairs' done to the front and the plate can't go onto the plate at the moment, the copper may let you off. I think it's pot luck to be honest mate.

I would tape it too the top of the windscreen, but i have a sunstrip and im worried the tape would pull it off when I remove it.

Would it hold?

Try laying it on the top of the dash or even attach it to your passengers sun visor with elastic bands and fold it down so you can se it through the windscreen.

Job done, one secure number plate that won't rattle/slide about your dash ;)

Good idea, cheers.

It needs to be up against the window so speed cameras would be able to get the reg otherwise mr officer has a reason to pull you.

Going back to the original question, why not just buy some sticky pads and put it where the bumpstrips used to be for a week or two? They come off easy enough afterwards with a bit of white spirit.

Will probably end up doing that, just didn't to if i didn't need to.

^ Vinyl sticker reg plate FTW.

I reckon your best bet is sticky pads if you don't want to risk it matey. Get the bigger spongey ones as the rounded Clio bumper does not take kindly to the thinner ones!
