OBD2 apps for iOS

I’ve still got an ELM327 from when I had my 197. I’ve got a mk2 1.2 now, are there any specific apps that are recommended for this type of car for reading and clearing codes. There’s no lights at the minute but I’d like to have one ready for when it happens.

I’ve had other cars where model or brand specific apps have been developed and wonder if there’s anything for the Clio.

On other cars I can change settings and options through the app but I’m guessing there isn’t anything to change on this car.

I’m looking for some info about this too. I’m trialling Torque and Dashcommand at the moment. Both seem fairly decent, but I’m not able to select the Clio from their lists of cars/models.

So I’d ask the same question of the forum: is there an iOS app which specifically references the Clio and, therefore, offers some useful functionality?

Or does it not matter...?

It doesn't matter what app you use iirc, you'll get the same level of detail from them all. If you want more detailed information, you're better off buying the official diagnostic software (Clip)

Dashcommand is pretty good, it’s what I use. Bear in mind that any generic OBD2 app is only going to do engine stuff.

RSTuner module will do whole car diagnostics for £120ish (comes with a tune iirc) but CLIP is the best.

I presume “Clip” is expensive?

I believe you can find copies on eBay for around £100-£150 which in the grand scheme of things isn't that expensive. You could easily make your money back reading fault codes for people with Renaults near you if need be. You will need a windows XP machine though (a VM will suffice).
