I never really did Oblivion proper justice the first time around. I have the Game of The Year Edition and literally set about killing and hacking everything in sight - aka, Cookie-Mode.
Then I picked up the Prima Guide for Oblivion at a discounted price. At around 500+ pages in length, I really wasn't that interested in reading about how to do the quests, passwords, etc. I was far more keen in making a decent and worthwhile start - in particular with a brand new character.
Having read the chapter on character creation and just a mere 2 hours into Oblivion again - I can honestly say that its massively better this time around. I actually feel like I'm doing 'something' rather than just wandering around and hitting things.
I created a combo class of marksman/illusionist and I'm getting used to taking out targets at range while in sneak mode - and thus getting higher damage scores in the process. It's the tip of the iceberg at the moment, but one I'm looking forward to. Even more so with the fact that with the graphics maxed out and with 8x AA applied, the FPS score from FRAPS never drops below 50fps - even outside.
