Odd sound when accelerating

About a week ago, I noticed that when accelerating beyond ~2500rpm in any gear, it almost sounds a bit too 'raspy', sort of like a go-kart?! It doesn't seem to be as notable when idling however I had a listen underneath earlier and thought it was perhaps the cat? I don't have a decat or anything fancy, just the standard one, and there seemed to be a louder sound than usual coming from there.
The car does have a Milltek exhaust but it's had that for well over a year (fitted by previous owner) and that's never sounded off.

Any advice would be great :)

There is a common problem I think - a blow from between the manifold and the cat.

Mine developed a metalic/fizzy sound after I put my scorpion 192 on. I did temporarily fix it with a new gasket kit I got from Birchdown, however it seems to have returned and I can see the odd drip of water from there when warming up. I'ts doing my head in.

Nah I checked that thread and it's not a whistling - sounds like a screwdriver has been stuck through the backbox!

I'll try and get a vid up at some point.

I agree with jengis, i had a very similar sound and it was the manifold to cat blowing. When it first started doing it it was very hard to hear when the car was parked and revved but it did get worse. It sounded awful and i hated it, got the new manifold to cat kit and it now seems sorted!

This is the one I got, i asked before if this was the correct kit and i was told it was. Having fitted it te car now sounds fine! You could also try looking under your car when its cold and started. Mine would leak some liquid between the join and if I put my hand very close to it I could feel a very feint blowing. It was a horrible raspy noise, sounded a bit like a strimmer line spinning lol.

Hmm i guess it is yes! I know that some people say non genuine kits areant as good but i have no idea what is genuine and what isnt to be honest so im not the best person to ask! In terms of the parts it contains then it looks like it is all there though!
