OEM "replacement" shocks - (EDDE!!!!!!!)

  Clio 197
Since my rear shocks are finally shot (leaking)...

...I'd like to replace them.

Are there any oem replacement shocks for the 182?

Basically, I want a decent set of shocks that aren't technically a modofication (due to them being similar to the manufacturer's spec).

Oms. :)

The rear shock for all Clios are the same size etc its damping rate which is different if you want to go fiddling you can get aftermarket ones from Blistein etc from Demon Tweeks I've got the cataogoloue at work (I think) I'll have a look tomorrow.
Infact Blistein do an OEM replacment for the stock 172 ones and some they call orignainl OEM but are 105 stiffer. I forget the price but there not bad.

182 cup shock rates are different to std 172/cup and 182..

Get std ones replaced under warrenty.. Kick off make a fuss they will replace them.

^^

I don't want the hassle.

I'd rather not give the pricks a chance to piss me off...

...ONE more thing, and I will go completely APE at them.

I've lost my temper once in my life, and it was expensive. ;)

On the plus side, I'm learning to keep the rear in check... but it's totally unpredictable at the moment.

EVOgone I agree the dampers are different infact the 182 Cup damper was 10% or something like that more firm ok the Blistein 10% increased won't be the same but they'll last a lot longer.
PS have you paid up for Oulton on the 9th yet?

spot on. renault will do anything to get out of paying in my experience, so try to get some evidence they've been replaced in the past and use that argument

I know its wear and tear but under the sale of good act surly the parts shouldn't fail prematurly and this early is IMO premature and a manurfacturing/design defect so covered.

Cheers mike...

For the extra, I'll probably go for new ones (I'm assuming you want 50% OEM price for them?).

RESULT: Directline will let me fit a set of non-renault rears, and will not class it as a mod!

If you don't get the new shocks, you can have the pair for £20 :)
