Hi guys, was wondering if anyone could tell me the offical renault book time for an auxillary belt change on a 172 cup?

I was £107 for an aux belt kit for my FF.

But a Cup it maybe cheaper.

I went to Mackie Motors as it was cheaper than Renault (eVAN hALSHAW IN aBERDEEN) by a few hundred quid for a timing belt and aux belt and fitting them.

Its a hell of a lot easier on the 172 cup (assuming it doesnt have air con).

is there a guide, as if its 20 mins, screw paying Renault £395 to change it!

Renault shouldnt charge you £395! Honestly its a piece of piss on a cup with no A/C!

Well personally we would charge about £16 labour to fit an auxiliary belt on a cup! Then a non genuine belt is about £11-12 roughly, genuine will be a bit more!! Definately no more than £50 all in for an aux belt on a 172 cup with no ac!

Obviously that depends on areas, down south will be dearer etc!!

shouldnt I change the tensioner as well as the belt though?

not on a cup, the tensioner (which is a threaded bolt) is about £40 LOL

just check your's is in good nick
