Oil 00000

  Suzuki Ignis
On start up the dash says 'OIL00000', and then after about a minute it will change to the odometer. Ive read up from other threads that it is meant to say 'OIL OK'.
So Ive thumbed through the Haynes manual but cant find anything relating to this code. Does anyone have any idea what it could be? Ive checked all oil and other fluid levels and there fine.
Could be mean its in need of an oil and filter change?
If someone could see if it says anything in there car manual I would be grateful as I dont have one.

One more thing. How do I get the tripometer to display, Ive pressed all buttons and nothing happens :S Have I just got a broken button?

1999 1.6 mk2 ph1 BTW

Thanks, Moz

Im sure the "0000" indicates the oil level so as oil is consumed and the level drops the diplay will show fewer "000"...

Thats off the top of my head anyway. My 182 used to display "oil ok" but its a different car to yours, I couldnt even tell you what my 197 says as i dont look tbh

Mine runs the self test on start up and then displays "Oil ok" if I press the trip button on the stalk it will then change to show the level "000...".

Not sure if there would be a difference on the Ph1 RSi and sport display though.

sounds like because you cant change ur trip button, it is on the "0000" display, rather than oil ok. I doubt that it would indicate a oil or filter change just by sayin that. If the oil and other fluid levels are fine. i wouldnt worry about it. just keep an eye on ur oil for the next few weeks just incase

Ditto^^

As it gets lower it will go 0000_ then 000_ _ etc.

Mine read 000 _ _ and the dipstick was actually near minimum!
