oil and stop light?

Alright fella's,
This has been coming on now for a week or so but goes out when the engine gets warm, sensor problem?
Anyone else had anything like this?
oil level is good and car has just been serviced.
thanks for any help.

apparently if its parked on a slope initially....well in some cars it makes that happend anyway?

could be either-
oil pressure switch or
low oil pressure which could be a blocked strainer or worn pump.
you need the oil pressure checking, its telling you to stop for a reason

but i just found it strange that it would do it intermitantly?
It doesnt stay on either, it flickers.
Does the 172 have 2 oil pressure swich's (high and low) or just one in the head?

well if its not doing it when warm its because the oil is thinner. no they just have one in the block. it shouldnt be a fault sender as if anything it'd not come on atall. get your oil pressure checked.

Mine did this a while back, oil level was spot on but the light kept coming on also with the stop light, so i just changed the sensor with a new one which cost me £8 ish and everything has been ok since.When i took out the old sensor it broke into two pieces in my hand it was so badly corroded.
