Oil breather size

  182 cup packs
Hi

I am replacing the induction elbow with a silicon one and need to get a separate oil breather filter. I had a quick look and it looks like i need a 14mm filter. Can anyone confirm the size? I want to attach directly to the crank case

Thanks a lot

Won't it drip oil onto the exhaust manifold, if you attach it directly to the crank case.
Thus causing stinky oil burning smell

yeah you will have to relocate it via a tube, plus they do smell if you vent to atmosphere, i'd just use a proper samco and re route it back into the intake

^^ yep, it will. (edit; comment/answer to Vincent)

I put mine on the end of the pipe/tube and tied it away behind the ecu-casing. Reasonably out of sight (just in case that it does'nt get spotted come MOT time)

I ordered one which had 3 different size connectors, ended up by putting it OVER the tube, fitted like a glove . Size, ca'nt remember sorry + ordered here in Holland so not really worth it for you. I'll get the link for you though ..

Good point, I hadn't thought of that....

now i remember ; to fit it over the tube , the filter itself fitted perfectly without the adapter pieces . 25mm to fit it over the pipe, little too big but when tightening it's perfect

Thank you thats very helpful. I didn't realise it would be an MOT failure to have an oil breather! I wonder if i could attached a filter to the hose that's on there already and secure it somehow, perhaps to the bulkhead.

I kind of tucked it away for a "worst case scenario" MOT-wise. I do'nt think the local boys around the corner doing their MOT will ever look for this, but when they get checked themselves by the officials i think these people look a bit further.
(over here they get random checks and officials come by to see if the job was done right on YOUR car maybe)

cheers
