oil change on a 1.2 mk2 ph1

how easy is it to do and what oil do i need?

im not shure when it had an oil change last ive had the car since feb 07 and ive done just over 3k do i need to chage the oil?

ive checked the dipstick and theres loads of oil on it, or can i just poor a new bottle into the oil thats allready in there?

as u can tell ive never done this b4 lol

To check the level, take the dipstick out, wipe it with a rag put it back in and take it back out again, look for the min and max lines. Oil change is very simple, just check with Renault which is the correct filter as there is 3 for this engine (assuming this is a 1.2 8v), yours will probably be the element type you slot into plastic housing. The filter on these engines is actually on the end near the timing belt, you can see it by peeling back the wheel arch.

There is a guide in the guides section on a oil change, if your struggling let me know, it will take about 3.7 litres, but put in 3 and a bit, go for a drive and top up as neccesary until its on the max line. Dont forget to smear some clean oil on the 2 sealing rings that are included with the filter.
