Oil clocks - All mk1 moders and 16vs please help

Ive been banging on about my new 16v dials not working in my 1.2l phase 3 clio. I saw there was some mods to get it to work. I just want them to light up right now to be honest. Now I have checked the fuse(the Renault fuse in the manual, and its fine as the other dash accessories light up with the same fuse). The bulbs are fine, ive checked and cleaned the contacts. Anyone have any ideas? This is important to me as it will set the interior off in the car to make it look a lot smarter.

Did anyone have to do any mods to switch them on? I do have the iso plug for it to slot into which is plugged in fine, but I think I was under the impression the lights would switch on. Am I wrong about this?
