Oil Cooler for Mk1 V6

  V6 Mk1/Beat/E320/Mcoupe
Is there an oil cooler on Mk1 V6? If so, where is it located? Are there any better ones available after market? Or do I have to custom one?

Thank you,

Bob

There certainly is an oil cooler on the mk1 vee, as I had to have mine replaced when it started leaking. I believe it is attached to the oil filter, though if you ask ClarkieV6 he'll be able to tell you for sure, as he changed mine!

not bothered - oil temps only reach max of 120 degrees

we had alot of heat problems there.....slow traffic all the time (40kph) and over 40 deg temps in traffic

my oil temps is at around 105 during normal driving in a little traffic. and 130+ on track. after a few laps, so think i need an oil cooler and relocate it to the front.

Thats why I am planning on an oil cooler and locating it onto the front. I will look into this slowly. Not going to track again any time soon anyways

BenR: do you know how much gearbox oil the V6 takes?

Do I HAVE to use ELF oils? If so, which model? I am planning to use Motul FFLSD for my gearbox.
