cant seem to find much on a search

anyone done it?

seems to be a fair few universal kits knocking around on ebay and such

I already have a mocal 13 row cooler, but i removed it as space with the ITB's and my rad is tight, would like to have it back on there just for the extra peace of mind

any help is appreciated

Have thought about the same thing and moving it up to the standard location of the battery. Feel a bit hesitant though since this will increase the altitude of the filter by 15-20cm, how will this effect Oil pressure.

yeh i would mount mine on a bracket attached to the battery tray (my battery is in the boot now)

i dont think the difference in height will make much difference, surely as long as there is enough extra oil to fill the pipes/cooler it will be fine?

no i mean the filter

you bolt a take off plate onto the original filter location, then two pipes leading to another adapter that the filter then screws into, means you can have the filter out of the way, makes it easier to change it, aids in cooling, and in my case makes it easier to route cooler pipes

You get a remote filter plate Jonny which links back to the block with hoses like a cooler

Ah right. Sounds simple enough. It is in an awkward place, has to be said. Can you not relocate to around the thermostat housing? Somewhere near the GB?

you can relocate it to wherever you like

seen a mk1 with it relocated around the bulkhead area

Speak to think automotive and get a remote filter head from them. Simples.

i have done just that

spoke to a very helpful guy, worked it out to budget around £120 for the full filter relocation setup

roughly same price as places online

the choice now is do i stick with the steel fittings, or go bling-tastic and go for aeroquip fittings (muchos dolla)

lol no problem mate, i dont have part numbers or anything, but im sure i can get them when i order it all :)

items needed:

- hoses, roughly £15 a metre including swaged fittings, can be made to any length you require
- remote filter take off, can either be left or right handed outlets, or straight forward, price between £24 and £36 depending on which you need
- remote filter head (to screw you filter into), again the inlet ports can be sided for easy installation, same price as above

thats it, i guessed at £120 for the lot, might come in a bit cheaper depending on which parts you choose

they have an online enquiry form, just tell them what car/engine you have and i'm sure they will sort you out

no

oh and your question before about running a dry sump, all comes down to expense, would be a nice bit of kit, but without finding any second hand it would be pretty expensive

Since not even the cup racers have it you can also bebate the need for it. These cars have a very good baffeling compared to many other cars.
