Oil Issue

I've just bought some excellium fully,wondering if I can top my oil with this as the oil thats in is from the factory(car has 5500 miles on).
Not sure what it has in fully/semi and if it's ok to mix?

AFAIK you shouldnt mix fully synth with semi, but I've never grasped that concept, since semi is already mixed so how could it be bad to add some more fuly synth?

dont think anyone knows for sure whats in from factory. I got mine changed at 6K miles oil and filter changed.

think i'd wait on oilman's reply first.

personally i'd just change the oil instead of mixing it, its almost as easy, and better for the engine in theory!

Had mine done at 1000miles and 12000miles

My dealer uses Mobil Super S 10-40 semi-synth and makes no secret of it - I dont know how good that is but I'm sure it does the job just fine.

I had it changed at 1000 because I hammered it from new without mercy...seems to be a very quick loose car as a result.
