Oil leak (pics)

Right the story is that ive had this oil leak for about 3-4 months (see pics) and i finally thought i best take it back to the dealers so they could sort it out under warranty as the car is not even 12 months old.
So i take it to them this morning and pick it up this afternoon, they say that the oil could of been spilt when i was topping it up (bollox i said to myself and bit my lip). They cleaned the oil up slightly and so i drove home thinking what i could do to prove the oil leak, anyway i arrived at home to find:---

so has anyone found a cure?? im just thinking that they didnt want do bother with it as its probably a big job and they're not earning any money from it.

A few people had it sorted, Shaun - 182_Blue and Liam IIRC. Fairly big job I think as the rocker cover has to come of, but this holds the cams in place.

hi mate, got your PM.

it's warranty fella. 4 hours labour, that's why they don't like doing it.

inlet and rocker are removed, new gasket fitted to both inlet and rocker. engine flushed and oil changed.

some cases a new rocker cover fitted if the case is bad.

request to see a parts manifest sheet when the job is done. if it leaks again you can argue that it was done on the cheap. some dealerships just gum the cover and torque all the bolts up, so i've been told.

the problem is due to the little badge on the rear of your car though. ;)

with your Cup you have one year's comprehensive warranty. this covers everything really apart from replaceable parts from hammering it. ie pads, tyres etc. lol

everything else is covered, especially a year old f4r!!!!!!!

sort em out son! :)

UPDATE:

My car has been at Renault for 2 days now, being without a car is pretty frustrating when its not your fault. They were pretty good with me actually after i phoned them up being slightly moody! Anyway with any luck it will be back tomorrow after having the top of the engine off.

this can be fixed without head being taken off - inlet manifold off - cambelt off - cam cover/bearing off - clean faces of cover and head - re-apply loctite 518 - re-torque and rebuild - THERE IS NO GASKET BETWEEN CAM COVER AND HEAD - is lazer cut and sealed with loctite
