oil leak

im lossing oil on my valver its not driping out the engine but in lossing qite a lot any ideas what it could be

Could be worn piston rings and burning away.

how much are you loosing, 1ltr per 1000 miles is common, they have a heavy breather system so do breath alot of oil sometimes.

i know the guy, his engine is on 55k so i doubt its burning the oil unless the head gasket has gone.
check the oil filler cap for white crap. check under neath the car where you park it, also check all round the rocker cover as the oil may be dripping on to the exhaust gasket and burning away.

no oil under neath nothing in water or oil no blue smoke out exhaust ? im baffeled

what grade oil is it??

mine used to use about a litre every 1250 miles!!

also no offence but are you measuring the oil level on a flat surface??

its only cheap oil but its lossing about half of its oil in 2 - 3 weeks measuring it on the flat when its cold
