Oil leak

  FF 182
I noticed a few small pools of oil gathering on my 182's engine the other day so soaked them up with kitchen roll, checked today and the pools of oil are back. The oil is gathering around the bolts on top of the engine, under the plenum, sorry for the vague description, but im a technical noob . Ive pointed them out on the attached pic best i could. Seems to me the only place its coming from is where the bolts screw in as theres no oil elsewhere, its sort of pooling up behind the bolt where its recessed a bit.

Anyone have an idea whats causing this? Hope its nothing too serious :(

  Mint 1*2's for sale-
Its easy to get done when you do your belts- so get it done then- Can remember what its called- oil strainer.

bout £50 / £60 on top of the belts IIRC.

i had a leak from my breather cover recently, noticed 2 bolts had sheared the heads off but when Dan @ 519 removed the inlet to fix it we discovered all 8 had just sheared off, as said that should have been noticed when your belts were done, ideally need the rocker cover removing and re-sealing or could check to see how tight the bolts are and maybe give them a nip if they're loose

So not a big job then if its that, the rocker cover resealing? Andyrg done the belts, he's got a good rep here and im not sure if it was leaking before the belts were done so im not gonna point fingers.

Actually, i have a feeling it might be sheared bolts as the oil is only pooling around 2 of the bolts......from what i can see.

you'll quite clearly see if the bolts have sheared as well the bolt head won't be physically there any more lol

Hahah yeh:eek:. The bolt heads are still there, the ones i can see anyway, so guess its not that ^^. I'll check them to see if there nipped up ok. So if they are ok its more than likely the rocker cover seal? Is that a big job then?

Also, for some reason i never thought of searching this, have little experience with clio sports and french cars but this seems to be a common problem!
