Oil level ok

Hi,

Ive had my brand new 1.2 16v for four months now and Ive just got round to checking the oil level. Its on the max mark on the dipstick. I read in the handbook that it should be between the min and max levels, so I took it down to my Renault dealer. Two mechanics looked at the dipstick and said that it should be on the max level and not between the two levels. When I said that that was contrary to what was stated in the handbook they said that I shouldnt go by that (?), as if the oil level was only between the max and min levels there wouldnt be enough to lubricate the engine properly..

Is it ok to keep the oil at the max level? The onboard sensor reads that its full too.

Please can I have some thoughts... :)

Yep so long as its above the minimum and below the max it doesnt matter.

Just remember to check the dip stick as it cal under Renault tolerances burn 1 liter per 1k miles and still be ok.

My cars never burned any oil ever its always on the maximum mark.
