oil...oil.........oil.. how much do u use?

ok this gonna sound like a strange question, but is it normal for a car NOT to use any oil at all?!

since ive had my 1.2 ive done 12,000 miles (since september) and ive not had to top up the oil once, when i had my astra i had to put oil in every few months

My 182 didnt use a drop of oil in it's first 12 months but between 12k and 24k it's developed a drinking habbit. It used about 1.5litres in that period, but I do give it death on a daily basis, and much of my driving these days is looooong high speed motorway stuff.

My 172 uses the square root of f**k all in between changes. Changed every 6k though.

Most RS will use about 1L every 1,000/1,500miles me thinks.

I never ever topped up my Cup, never needed it.

My DC5 uses about 1l a month at the mo :S

My 172 has used 3 bars on the digital display since it was filled last. My dads CTR used to drink a sh1t load of oil.

My old 172 never needed a top up in 48k , changed every 6k .

My 172 never seems to use any. I've not topped it up in 14 months of ownership - been changed once in that time.

My old 1.2 Clio never used any either.

Mine has only just started using some buit it is on 82000 miles! And its tsill only 1/4 a litre every 10k!

my valver drinks it but dont burn it and amazingly no oil leeks not bad for 117k on the clock

Had my head gasket done a couple of months back on my valver as well as a full service and it hasn't used a drop after a lot of hard driving!

i think the problem u have mate is u used to drive an astra... my brother has one and is forever putting oil in it..
