Oil Temp Gauge Installation - Oil Change?

So, Just about to go outside to fit the sender to my oil gauge, which is inside a tapered sump plug.

I changed the oil and filter around a month or 2 ago.

Is it worth emptying it all out and fitting the new plug...then putting the oil all back in.

Or should I do a full oil and filter change?

We're talking £50 for a change haha, Mobil One isn't cheap.

But if thats the best thing to do, I'll go get some
