My oil temperature gauge seems to not be working. cant find in haynes manual where the switch is or even if it has one. any ideas?

I think its at the front of your engine... next to the filter... a little difficult to get there, just like the "F£%&!§Ø" filter... It could be a loose or bad connetion, as the switch is in a position where a lot of water and dirt can hit it....

Yo Richy ive had this problem a couple off times my gauge only worked when i tapped or pressed the dash.. I took it to my local garage ( not renault) and he confirmed it was the actual gauge and replaced for about 60 or 70 ££££

It worked fine after that until the other day and it has started sticking again, so ive booked it in for this friday coz it was done less than a year ago it would still be under warranty from renault so i believe...

Good luck in sorting it out

take it you can buy the switch if it is the switch thats faulty?

Also got another question....... my outside temperture lcd has stopped lighting up, expensive to buy?

the switch is on the front of the block to get it out bonnet has to come off and the fan, then u might be able to get the rad far enough forward to get the switch out prob quicker to take rad out tho

when i did it i was draining coolant anyway and changing fan switch so i took the rad out anyway i wouldnt hav wanted to do it with it in anyway

tried the GIVING IT A WHACK! method and it did work but now dont work no matter how hard i hit it!! maybe a sledge hammer would do the trick and at same time i could customize my dash!

yeh its a tiny bit smaller than the fanswitch its on the front of the block but faces downwards into the sump

if you can get ur hand in u mite be able to feel it but i doubt it without knowing whereabouts it is

The temp display will probably be the bulbs i had excactly the same problem mine used to go out then i would bang the dash and it would flicker on then off again

mine stop working and hill power told me that it most prob is the sensor which is located in the sump..

went to renault and they wanted £50 for the sensor so i didnt brother for now.
