Oil temp/pressure gauges with oil cooler

  Cup Turbo, Flamer
Is this possible as I've already got the sandwich plate for the cooler?

If so, how do i do it...?

Oil temp gauge will depend what oil temps you want to read. You can either fit it inline pre or post cooler......if you have braided cooler lines though it'll cost you a lot more for unions and fittings.

Pressure just get an extension made to fit the original location for the pressure warning sensor, then remote locate a T block with the required threads for the OEM and aftermarket pressure sensor. Remote location prevents failure of the pressure sensor due to NVH.

What Nvh ?

When i was fitting Oil gauges to my 172ff i had problems getting fittings to suit the threads in the engine block that the oil pressure sensor goes into under the oil filter :(
I was told by my local hydraulics place that it was a M14 x1.5 metric thread

See my threads here for remote locating c/w hose ;)

Its not hard getting the right fittings. A motorsport company is more likely to have the required parts than your average hydraulics company.

NVH = Noise, Vibration and Harshness......basically shaking things till they break.

Ah righty, i suppose that makes sense now.

And yeah i may get on the case to Demon Tweeks and the like ;)

Cheers Ben

Cheers for the reply chaps, the only reason i'm interested is because I read about Ryans turbo loosing all oil because the oil cooler braided hose split....just want to prevent bad times!!

Ok cheers ;)

I don't suppose you know if the standard oil pressure sensor is M14 do you Ben ?

Or if theres any way of knowing/finding out what it is ?

It is a m14 x 1.5

Aftermarket pressure sensors are normally 1/8 npt.
