Oil.......

I know its about a Megane but I just wanted to know.

I've had my Megane 225 since January but its only done about 2250 miles. The message 'Change Oil Soon' has flashed up which is on a timer not set according to mileage.

Question is, does the oil really need changing??? The time was probably set as it left the factory so probably about 10-11 months ago.

I think you should change it tbh mate.

I'd do mine every 6000 miles or 6 mths, whichever is sooner.

Oil is an engines life blood & is even more important on a F/I lump than an N/A imo.

Well worth the £35-50 it's gonna cost ya

Yep, seeing as oil changes are so cheap and easy you may as well do it.

6k or 6mnths for me too.

I'm not that bored haha. I'll give it a check before I next take it out, but its got an electronic oil check anyway but I'll do it manually at the weekend.

I'm just aware that the oil level message is set to come on after a certain time so even if your car sits there and doesn't move from the factory, the message will still pop up.

Just seems that for having only driven 2200 miles in it, although in 9 months, the oil should be ok.

Well I'm not doing many miles as you can see so the oil change will hold off for a month or so. It says chance oil soon so soon I'd imagine would be a few miles. Got to tax my R5 first.
