On board computer

Hi peeps,
1st off Merry christmas,
secondly was reading a post about probelms with peoples on board computers resetting themselves upon first start up, lately i have noticed this happenin on my 172 cup. Initially i thought it was jus the cold but recently its been slightly milder, Anyway reading this post there were a few comments made suggesting battery problems, only thing is that my cars not long had one on (start of this year) could it be knackered already?
Or is there something else it could be?

Any help appreciated!

Merry Christmas to you too Daz!

Do you know whether your new battery is a sealed maintenance free one or not? If you can get in to check the fluid levels it might be worth seeing if any of the cells are down on fluid, if you find low fluid, fill up the appropriate cell with de-ionised water. If it is a maintenance free one and you've had it less than a year i'd go get it checked out where you bought it to see if it is a battery problem. Or if you've got a meter around you could check it yourself, if it's no good try see what you can get out of them on a guarantee. Most of the new sealed batteries have a reasonable guarantee attached these days.
