One dim headlight

  Clio 1.2tce DSX
Hi guys/girls,
I seem to have the above problem the left headlight on my mk3 Clio, it works fine it just is dimmer (if that's a word) than the right side, tried a new bulb in it to no avail so wondering of its an earthing problem? Does anyone know where the nearside headlight earths out to do I can check? Or any other ideas as to what may be causing this?

Would massively appreciate any help!!

Not 100% but it does seem quite a bit more dim shall we say than I think it should be as is when I'm driving at night I can only see my driver side one reflecting off the rear of other cars until I come to stop behind them at traffic lights as opposed to other cars I notices that both lights are reflecting off other cars at a reasonable distance

It could just be soemthing like the alignment being out.

Definately check the 'brighter' bulb, make sure it's not just had an upgraded bulb in that side.

Just checked the bulbs replaced both as a matter of cause, no difference :-( check alignment and that is spot on on both sides so I guess it's a matter of hunting down the earthing point for it next...thanks for your help guys hopefully I'll get to the bottom of it!

Ok so little update...upon closer inspection somehow the little some lens that covers the dipped beam bulb inside the headlight has got a little bit of dirt on the inside of it!! Do I guess the next step is either save for a new head light or attempt to clean it, probs going to save for a new light unit though as from what I've read and seen the only way of doing it would be to removed the front bumper to take the unit out!

Yeah you do need to remove the front bumper to remove the headlights, very simple task though...
