One key wont start the car?

I've got a 1.2 2005 clio with 2 keys, one key will start the car first time with no problems at all but the other will not start the car, the immobiliser light flashes and stop comes up on the dashboard, if you press the lock/unlock button sometimes it will start but not always. It always unlocks/locks the car with no problem, just fails to start it so I'm a bit confused can anyone help on this? Thanks!

They have a little chip inside them that is read by a ring around the ignition barrel when you put the key in

If someone has had a cheap copy made in the past by just cutting a matching key then it will open the doors/boot fine but won't disable the immobiliser so the car won't start

Transponder is bust, thats the chip that talks to ecu I think, Im a locksmith but only domestic and commercial..

It's strange because as I say it looks exactly the same as the other key, and can remotely unlock and lock the doors with a click of the button and sometimes it will start the car. If it was the transponder or whatever how would start the car on occasions?

Once again, it's the key.

Nothing you can do with it, the transponder is faulty.

No point in reprogramming it because the central locking is working (which means its paired)

Either go to a a good locksmith or renault.
